Chelsea Keen On Signing This Porto Emerging Star: One For The Future?

According to SportWitness, Chelsea have identified Porto attacker Francisco Conceicao as a viable option. Impressed with his performances at the Euro Cup 2024, the Premier League club could be making a move this week to sign him.

Francisco Conceicao has caught the limelight recently

After spending a couple of seasons at Porto, Francisco Conceicao joined Ajax before the 2022-23 season. However, just after a season at the Dutch outfit, he returned to his former club Porto on a loan deal. The deal was later made permanent by the parties involved.

Conceicao had a decent season, where he scored eight goals and as many assists in 43 games. He averaged 2.3 shots, 1.4 key passes, and 2 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). He even featured in Portugal’s games at the Euro Cup 2024 and scored a late winner in their opening game.

The Portuguese plays on the right wing and is a technically sound player. He likes to cut in inside towards the goal to create threats. With great dribbling sense, accurate passing, and the ability to take set pieces or score from long range, he is always a threat to the opponents.

Francisco Conceicao’s release clause will increase to €45 million

Chelsea are in the race to sign new attackers in the summer window to improve their offensive line. They need to strengthen the flanks and add more depth to the unit. Hence, the pursuit of Francisco Conceicao should be seen in a good spirit.

Conceicao is a natural winger and his inclusion will add a lot of value and depth. His creativity and finishing in the final third can help the Blues secure more goals. The 21-year-old can serve the club for many years should he continue to improve his game going forward.

As the player’s release clause is set to rise to €45 million from €30m from 15th July, Chelsea are expected to make a move this week. Whatever happens, an exciting week awaits for their fans.
