Chelsea Establish Contact With This Fulham Star’s Agent: Good Choice By The Blues?

According to Ge, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira as they look to bolster their midfield. The former club have even established contact with the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian to discuss a possible summer move.

Andreas Pereira’s rebirth at Fulham

Andreas Pereira came through the ranks of Manchester United Academy but he failed to establish himself there. After multiple loan spells, he moved to Fulham in the summer of 2022 on a permanent deal. The move turned out to be good as he finally started hitting the ground.

An important link on the team sheet, Pereira has been decent enough over the past two seasons. This season, he featured in 44 games, scoring three goals and providing nine assists. He averaged 1.2 shots, 2 key passes, and 0.5 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).

The Brazilian is better known for his attacking traits in the middle of the park. He excels in building plays and creating scoring opportunities. He also possesses the ability to score goals from set-pieces or long-range. However, the player doesn’t provide enough defensive contributions.

A fill for Conor Gallagher

Chelsea will have to bring in a fresh midfielder this summer as Conor Gallagher is likely to depart. The player has 12 months left on his contract but the club doesn’t want to risk him losing for free next season. With multiple parties interested in signing him, a sale is on the cards.

The Blues have set a price tag of £50 million for Gallagher, which will help them in signing Andreas Pereira. The management believes Pereira would be an ideal pick considering his experience and qualities in the final third. His addition will help them in securing more goals.

The 28-year-old has two years left with Fulham but he is reportedly open to joining a new club. Hence, it shouldn’t be difficult for Chelsea to sign him before the next season kicks in.
