Chelsea Considering Summer Move For Ajax Star Kid: What Will He Bring?

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are highly impressed with the progression of Ajax starlet Jorrel Hato as a footballer. The Premier League club are even considering a move to acquire his services in the summer transfer window.

The case of Jorrel Hato

Jorrel Hato came through the ranks of Ajax Academy and made his senior team debut in 2022. His impressive glimpses urged the club to give him more opportunities. As the player got more game time, he showcased his talent and earned the faith of the management.

Hato became an integral part of the setup this season, where he turned up 46 times for the club. In the process, he netted a goal and also provided three assists. He averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, and 2.5 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).

The Dutch defender mainly plays as a centre-back but can also operate in the left-back position. He is solid with his defensive traits, be it tackling, intercepting, or blocking the shots. He also finds himself comfortable with the ball and has good distribution skills.

Not an easy signing for Chelsea

As it is known to everyone, Chelsea are in search of a new defender after losing Thiago Silva as a free agent. They were heavily linked to Riccardo Calafiori and wanted to get his signature. But the player decided to sign for their arch-rivals Arsenal.

Hence, the Blues are eyeing a new name in the market and the case of Jorrel Hato has emerged. The Dutchman’s progression over the past few seasons hasn’t gone unnoticed. Impressed by his displays and untapped potential, the English outfit are discussing a summer move.

However, Chelsea will have to offer a lucrative deal on the table as the 18-year-old recently signed a new contract at Ajax. Moreover, they aren’t alone in the race as the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the youngster.
