In a recent report, Gune Bakis claimed that Aston Villa have made an improved offer to land Besiktas prospect Semih Kilicsoy. It is believed that the Villans have launched a €30m move to acquire the services of the Turkish talent this summer.
Kilicsoy’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
The 18-year-old had a promising campaign at Besiktas after he put in a series of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. Kilicsoy banged in 12 goals and grabbed three assists in 35 matches for the Turkish outfit last season in various competitions.
The Turkish starlet gave a good account of himself in the final third as he averaged 2.5 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. However, he lacked quality when distributing the ball up top based on his pass completion rate of 71.6% in the Turkish first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Turkish club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, the Villans have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Kilicsoy this off-season.
Aston Villa Have Made An Improved Offer To Land Kilicsoy: Is He A Star In The Making?
Kilicsoy can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and has got the vision to create a few decent chances for others around him on the offensive end of the pitch. The Turkish youngster is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also function as a wide player on either flank if told to do so.
Kilicsoy is already good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Aston Villa next season. He did well to add some goals and assists to his game last season. At 18, the Turkish sensation has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. He might even help the Villans challenge across all fronts in the coming years.
However, Kilicsoy might need some time to adjust to the physical style and high intensity of Premier League football. He is undoubtedly a star in the making, so Emery should focus on trying everything in his power to lure him to Villa Park in this transfer window.
