In a recent report, Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) revealed that Aston Villa are showing interest in Fiorentina full-back Michael Kayode. It has been stated that the Villans have set their sights on the Italian defender this summer.
Kayode’s Decent Run Of Form In Italian Football
Kayode enjoyed an impressive season in Italian football after he put in a series of eye-catching displays on the right side of Fiorentina’s backline. The 19-year-old netted one goal and picked up four assists in 37 appearances for the Italian outfit last season across all competitions.
The talented teenager proved himself to be a valuable contributor on the right flank based on his average of 2.0 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.5 clearances, 0.6 key passes, 0.8 crosses and 0.8 dribbles per game in Serie A. He was even excellent when distributing possession, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 87% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2028. Thus, it won’t be easy for the Villans to snap him up in this transfer period.
