In a recent report, Aslinda claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed on personal terms with Fenerbahce playmaker Sebastian Szymanski. It has been stated that Spurs are expected to make a new offer to land the Polish attacker this summer.
Szymanski’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
Szymanski had an excellent campaign at the Turkish club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old registered 13 goals and picked up 19 assists in 55 matches for Fenerbahce last season on all fronts.
The Polish forward has given a good account of himself in the opposition half based on his average of 2.4 shots and 2.1 key passes per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball after completing 78.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Fenerbahce will run out in the summer of 2027 which could open the door for Spurs to get a deal over the line for him this off-season.
Is Szymanski A Good Option For Tottenham Hotspur?
Szymanski is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few good plays for his teammates on the offensive end of the field. He can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and is a great crosser of the ball as well.
The Poland international did well to add plenty of goals and assists to his game last season. Hence, it makes sense for Tottenham to try and get a deal done for Szymanski in the summer. However, he might need some time to adjust to life in English football.
We can expect him to bring more firepower to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s defence. He would help the North London club compete across all competitions over the next few years. He has what it takes to be a success story at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the long run.
However, Postecoglu would have to be patient with his progress before he can unlock the best out of the youngster in the future. At 25, Szymanski has his best years ahead of him which makes him a great option for the North London giants to pursue in this summer transfer window.
