In a recent report, Inter Live claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a keen eye on Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi this summer. It has been stated that Spurs are eyeing a move for the Italian talent later this year.
Frattesi’s Impressive Form In Italian Football
Frattesi has caught the eye at times with his performances at the centre of Inter’s midfield during this Serie A campaign. The 24-year-old has registered eight goals and picked up seven assists in 42 matches for the Milan outfit this season across all competitions.
The Italian sensation has seen most of his appearances off the bench which explains why is averaging 0.3 tackles, 0.5 clearances and 1.0 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from midfield after completing 80.9% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2028 which would make it difficult for the North London club to land him this summer.
Is Frattesi A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
Frattesi can get stuck in with a few solid tackles to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can strike the ball with venom from long range. However, the Italian talent has to find a way to earn more first-team starts if he wants to improve as a footballer over the next few years.
Frattesi has proven himself to be a useful presence in Inter Milan’s squad. However, the jury is still out on whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.
Still, we can expect Frattesi to add more energy and dynamism to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s midfield. He is good enough to serve as a good, rotational piece in the North London club‘s squad.
At 24, Frattesi has still got a lot of room to grow as a footballer. Therefore, he would be a decent choice for Spurs to pursue ahead of the new campaign. However, Postecoglu would have to be patient with his development before he can get the best out of the talented midfielder.
