In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy. It has been claimed that Spurs have identified the Guinean forward as a target for this summer transfer window.
Guirassy’s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga
The France-born talent enjoyed a productive campaign in the Bundesliga after he produced a series of impressive displays as the focal point of Stuttgart’s attack. Guirassy banged in 30 goals and picked up three assists in 30 appearances for the German outfit last season across all competitions.
The Guinean attacker has proven his worth as a capable forward by averaging 3.3 shots, 1.9 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the final third based on his pass success rate of 81.4% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club will expire in the summer of 2026. Thus, Spurs would have to make a convincing offer if they want to sign the Stuttgart star later this year.
Is Guirrasy A Good Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?
Guirassy is proficient at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has proven himself to be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal and can create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The Guinea international is a good dribbler with the ball as well. However, he might struggle to cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Tottenham Hotspur manage to get him on board later this year.
Guirassy would undeniably inject more firepower into Spurs boss Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team place at the North London club next season.
At 28, Guirassy is playing in his prime at the moment. Hence, he would be a great fit for Tottenham‘s needs ahead of the new campaign. We can expect the Stuttgart ace to help Spurs challenge across all fronts in the coming years. All in all, Postecoglu should focus on going all out to bring Guirassy to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in this summer transfer period.
