In a recent report, Defensa Central mentioned that Real Madrid have been offered a chance to land AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez. It is believed that Los Blancos have been given a chance to sign the French left-back but only in exchange for Brahim Diaz.
Hernandez’s Impressive Form In Italian Football
The 26-year-old did well to produce a handful of promising displays on the left side of AC Milan’s backline in the previous campaign. Hernandez participated in 46 matches for the Italian outfit last season, netting five goals and earning 11 assists across all competitions.
The French talent has given a good account of himself on the left flank based on his average of 0.9 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.8 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball after making 87.7% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Milan club will run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, Real Madrid would have no choice but to meet AC Milan’s demands if they are to sign the French defensive ace this off-season.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Get Hernandez On Board?
Hernandez is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He can clear the danger when needed and can strike the ball with venom from long range.
The French defender has got the eye to set up a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and can make a few driving runs with the ball as well on the left flank.
We can expect him to add more quality to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He already knows the Madrid club well from his previous spell with them and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 26, Hernandez is about to enter his prime which makes him a worthy target for Los Blancos to consider this summer. He might even help the Spanish outfit compete for some major trophies over the next few years. Thus, it makes sense for Real Madrid to get him on board ahead of the new campaign.
