In a recent report, AS mentioned that Real Madrid have identified Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot as a target. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to secure the services of the French talent this summer.
Rabiot’s Impressive Run Of Form In French Football
Rabiot enjoyed a decent campaign at the Italian club as he put in a series of impressive displays at the heart of their midfield. The 29-year-old netted five goals and picked up three assists in 37 matches for Juve last season on all fronts.
The French talent has been a good performer at the centre of the park based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.2 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from midfield after completing 84.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Allianz Stadium will run out at the end of this month which could open the door for Los Blancos to snap Rabiot up on a free transfer later this year.
What Will Rabiot Add To Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?
Rabiot is a tough-tackling midfielder who can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when required and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The French sensation has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half and is an energetic runner with the ball. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Spanish football if Los Blancos manage to get him on board.
We can expect Rabiot to add more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season.
At 29, Rabiot is playing in his prime and is good enough to help the Madrid giants compete for even more major honours over the next few years. Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to try and sign the French midfield ace on a free transfer later this summer.
