As reported by Fichajes, Liverpool have identified Napoli midfielder Stanislas Lobotka as a valuable addition to the squad. They are even ready to submit a substantial offer but will not overspend to acquire his services in the summer.
Stanislav Lobotka’s journey so far
Stanislav Lobotka represented multiple clubs before he signed for Napoli in the winter of 2020 from Celta Vigo. He wasn’t a starter initially but his impressive performances over the years have helped him cement a spot for himself on the team sheet.
Labotka has been an integral part of the team and played a crucial role even this season. He turned out for the Italian outfit 49 times and managed to get one assist to his name. He averaged 1.5 tackles. 0.9 interceptions, and 0.8 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The Slovakian plays as a defensive midfielder and controls the tempo of the game. He remains calm under pressure and does neat work in tight spaces. He makes line-breaking passes to build attacks and has a high successful tackling percentage.
A good addition for Liverpool
Liverpool need urgent reinforcement in the squad if they wish to fight against the qualities of Manchester City and Arsenal next season. One of the areas they should improve is the midfield, especially after losing Thiago Alcantara as a free agent.
The Reds lacked a defensive midfielder and were forced to play Wataru Endo continuously. As a result, their performance took a toll, a mistake which they cannot commit again. Hence, the club have shown interest in signing Stanislav Lobotka.
Lobotka is an experienced campaigner and can add a lot of value to the midfield unit. He is a proper defensive midfielder, who will help the side function well. The English side are ready to place a bid for the veteran but only a substantial amount. The club have no intention to spend too much as the player is already 29 years old.
