In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed that Everton have got concrete interest in Chelsea forward Armando Broja. It is understood that the Toffees would have to rival Wolverhampton Wanderers, AC Milan and VfB Stuttgart in the race to land the Albanian striker this summer.
Broja’s Struggles At Stamford Bridge Last Season
Broja endured a frustrating campaign at the West London club as he struggled to be consistent for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The 22-year-old scored just two times and grabbed one assist in 27 matches for Chelsea last season in various competitions.
The Albanian sensation made most of his appearances as a substitute but did well to average 1.0 shots and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He was even tidy when distributing possession in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 89.2% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Broja is under contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for Everton to get a deal done for him this summer.
Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Snap Broja Up This Summer?
Broja excels at creating a yard of space for himself to get some shots in at goal. He can be a streaky goal-scorer in the final third when he is playing well on the field. The Albania international is a good dribbler with the ball as well but needs to work on creating more openings for his teammates up top. However, he is in dire need to add more goals and assists to his game if he wants to be a regular starter in top-flight football.
Broja would no doubt enhance the quality of Everton boss Sean Dyche’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Goodison Park next season. Broja already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club if Dyche can find a way to win the race for his services this summer.
At 22, Broja has the potential to be a future star in English football. Therefore, the Toffees should consider going all out to snap him up before the end of this summer transfer period.
