Barcelona Offered A Chance To Recruit This Manchester United Ace: Decent Fit For Flick?

In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona have been offered a chance to recruit Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho. It has been stated that the Catalan club have been given a chance to secure the services of the English wide player.

Sancho’s Impressive Loan Spell In Germany

Sancho enjoyed an encouraging loan spell at Signal Iduna Park recently as he put in a string of impressive displays for the German club in the final third. The 24-year-old scored three goals and picked up three assists in 21 matches for Borussia Dortmund last season across all competitions.

The London-born talent was a decent contributor in the opponent’s half based on his average of 0.6 shots, 1.8 key passes and 2.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the final third, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 83.8% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

Sancho’s current contract at his parent club Manchester United will run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for Barcelona to snap him up on the cheap later this year.

Is Sancho A Good Fit For Barcelona?

Sancho is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can strike the ball with power from long range.

The English wide player can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third when he is playing well on the field. He is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player or play as a centre-forward if asked to do so.

We can expect Sancho to add more firepower to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s attack. At 24, he has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a great fit for the Catalan club‘s needs in the long run.

Sancho might even help Barca compete for some major honours over the next few years. Therefore, Flick would be wise to move in for him before the end of this transfer window.
