In a recent print edition, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claimed that Aston Villa are keeping a keen eye on Juventus winger Matias Soule who spent last season on loan at Frosinone. It has been mentioned that the Villans are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Argentine wide player this summer.
Soule’s Decent Loan Spell At Frosinone Last Season
The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Frosinone after he put in a string of eye-catching performances for them on the offensive end of the field. Soule has scored 11 goals and earned three assists in 39 appearances for the Italian outfit this season in multiple competitions.
The Argentine prospect has been a good contributor in the final third as he is averaging 2.3 shots, 2.3 key passes and 2.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A football. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 81.5% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
Soule’s current deal at his parent club Juventus will expire in the summer of 2026. Thus, the Villans would have to launch a convincing offer if they are serious about bringing him to Villa Park later this year.
Should Aston Villa Snap Soule Up This Summer?
Soule can create some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal and usually generates power with his shot attempts. He is a good dribbler with the ball and has got the vision to set up a few promising chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The Argentine whizkid mainly operates on the right wing but can also serve as a striker or play in the number ten position if needed. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in Premier League football.
At the moment, Soule is enjoying his football in Italy but might need some time to adjust to life at Villa Park if the Villans manage to get him on board this summer. At 21, he has the potential to be a world-class winger someday. Hence, Aston Villa would be wise to go all out to snap Soule up in this summer transfer period.
