West Ham United would clash heads with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Sunday as they try to grind out a good result in the London derby. The Hammers managed to secure a 2-2 draw against Liverpool recently which should give them some confidence ahead of this game.
David Moyes will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this contest. Hence, Michail Antonio will once again lead the charge for the East London club in this game while Danny Ings settles for a spot on the bench.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Alphonse Areola will feature in between the sticks for the Hammers after shipping in two goals in his last league outing. Kurt Zouma will function alongside Angelo Ogbonna at the centre of the West Ham backline as they try to make life difficult for the home team during the 90 minutes.
Vladimir Coufal will operate as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to get forward and express themselves in the Chelsea half.
Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Edson Alvarez will anchor the midfield along with Tomas Soucek as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen will play just ahead of them as part of the West Ham attack. All three of them need to be at their best if West Ham want to create enough chances to win this London derby.
James Ward-Prowse will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Michail Antonio will spearhead West Ham’s attack up top. He has to find a way to cause some problems for the Chelsea defenders on the counter.
Danny Ings will be named on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Hammers are in need of a goal by then.
