In a recent report, The Guardian claimed that West Ham United are keeping a keen eye on Coventry City playmaker Callum O’Hare this summer. It has been stated that the Hammers are showing interest in signing the English attacker later this year.
O’Hare’s Impressive Form In The EFL Championship
O’Hare is having a decent campaign at the West Midlands club after he put in a run of impressive displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The 25-year-old has participated in 34 matches for Coventry City this season, netting ten goals and earning four assists across multiple competitions.
The Solihull-born talent has been a decent performer in the final third as he is averaging 1.2 shots, 1.2 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has also been accurate when distributing the ball in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 86% in the second tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the English club will run out at the end of this campaign which could open the door for the Hammers to snap him up on a cut-price deal in the upcoming transfer period.
Is O’Hare A Good Choice For West Ham United?
O’Hare is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some promising runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates up top and can even strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range.
The English talent can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. However, there are some question marks over whether he can maintain his good form in Premier League football.
Still, there is no denying that O’Hare would be a welcome addition to West Ham‘s match-day squad ahead of the new campaign. He would inject more quality into the East London club‘s frontline. O’Hare might even help the Hammers compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. All in all, he would be a good choice for West Ham to pursue later this summer.
