In a recent report, journalist Danny Rust mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze as a target for the upcoming transfer window. It has been claimed that Spurs would have to rival Chelsea in the race to land the English playmaker this summer.
Eze’s Impressive Form At Selhurst Park This Season
Eze has enjoyed a productive campaign at the London club as he has managed to put in a string of influential displays for them in the final third. The English attacker has found the back of the net 11 times and secured six assists in 31 matches for Crystal Palace this season across all fronts.
The 25-year-old has been a reliable performer in the opponent’s half and has done well to average 3.1 shots, 2.0 key passes and 2.6 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has also distributed the ball relatively well in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 83.7% in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).
Eze’s current deal at Selhurst Park will expire in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Spurs to land him on a cut-price deal later this year.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu Move In For Eze?
Eze is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with the ball in the opposition half. He can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. The London-born talent is a decent playmaker as well on the offensive end of the field. He mainly operates in the number ten position but can also play as a winger if asked to do so.
We can expect Eze to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s squad. He is more than capable of earning a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 25, Eze has his best years ahead of him which makes him a good option for Spurs to consider in the upcoming transfer window. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club. Therefore, Tottenham would be wise to move in for him this summer.
