In a recent report, talkSPORT claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to bring the English centre-forward to North London in the upcoming transfer window.
Solanke’s Impressive Record In Premier League Football
Solanke has enjoyed a productive campaign at the Vitality Stadium as he has put in a lot of fruitful displays for the Cherries in the final third. The English attacker has participated in 42 matches for Bournemouth this season, scoring 21 goals and picking up four assists in multiple competitions.
The 26-year-old has given a good account of himself deep inside the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.9 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Premier League. However, he has lacked quality when distributing possession up top after completing just 73.7% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Solanke is under contract at Bournemouth until the summer of 2027, so it won’t be easy for Tottenham to get a deal over the line for him on the cheap later this year.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu Move In For Solanke This Summer?
Solanke is proficient at finding some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal and has proven himself to be a capable finisher in the Premier League. He can also engineer the odd chance for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area.
The English striker can also make a few clever runs with the ball in the final third. He would bring more firepower to Tottenham’s attacking department. Solanke is good enough to help Angelos Postecoglu’s team challenge for some major honours over the next few years.
At 26, the English sensation has his best years ahead of him which makes him a great choice for Spurs to consider this summer. He might even help the North London club cope with fixture congestion better in the future.
Solanke has got enough experience in the Premier League to serve as a useful asset in Tottenham‘s squad next season. Therefore, Postecoglu should consider moving in for him soon.
