In a recent report, The Sun revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Everton starlet Douglas Lukjanciks. However, it is understood that Spurs would have to rival Aston Villa, Marseille, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Manchester City in the race to land the gifted keeper.

Lukjanciks is a member of Everton’s academy at the moment and has managed to catch the eye at the youth levels of English football. The English whizkid is a home-grown talent who could go on to become a future star in his homeland.
The talented prospect has already represented England at the Under-17 level and is currently one of the best young keepers in English football. Lukjanciks has managed to impress with his performances for Everton during the Under-18 Premier League campaign. However, he has still not penned scholar terms with the Toffees but is expected to do so in the summer.
Lukjanciks’ ceiling is quite high, so it is no surprise that so many top clubs including Tottenham Hotspur are looking to acquire his services at the end of this campaign. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to develop into a world-class keeper. Still, he would be a great, long-term acquisition for the North London giants to pull off this year.

Lukjanciks is a decent handler of the ball. He can use his quick reflexes to make some solid stops at the back for his team. The English teenager is a good distributor of the ball as well and could go on to become a top player in his position someday.
However, Lukjanciks is quite inexperienced, so Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu would have to be patient with his progress if he wants to unlock the best out of the youngster at the North London club in the long run.
With all things considered, there is no denying that Lukjanciks is a prospect to watch out for in the future as long as he continues to mature as a keeper with each year. Hence, Spurs would be wise to try everything they can to win the race for his services later this year.
