In a recent tweet, renowned Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol revealed the final four candidates for the Chelsea managerial position following Mauricio Pochettino’s exit recently. Solhekol said,
“Final shortlist for Chelsea head coach job: De Zerbi, Frank, Marseca, McKenna. No Xavi. List reflects desire to appoint a dynamic, forward thinking and progressive coach who fits in with the club’s ideology and has experience of coaching in English football at high level.”
Chelsea are going through the process of finalising their shortlist for the vacant managerial position at the London club. The names of Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank, Enzo Maresca and Kieran McKenna are currently under consideration at Stamford Bridge, according to the Sky Sports reporter.
Roberto Zerbi has already begun to prove his worth at Brighton and Hove Albion. The 44-year-old has developed an attractive playing style at the American Express Community Stadium and is an expert at developing young talent. Hence, it is no surprise that he is being considered for the Chelsea job.
Thomas Frank has also established himself as a respected head coach in the Premier League due to his incredible brand of football at Brentford. The 50-year-old managed to help the Bees avoid relegation from the English top-flight this season which has only raised his stock in English football.
Enzo Maresca deserves a ton of credit for helping Leicester City secure a promotion back to the Premier League this season. He led the Foxes to winning the EFL Championship title after they finished with 97 points, just one above second-placed Ipswich Town. He has earned a lot of fans for his brand of football and could prove to be a wise choice for Chelsea to consider this summer.
Kieran McKenna helped Ipswich Town earn a promotion back to the English first division. The 38-year-old is a bright young manager who has caught the eyes of many top Premier League clubs including Chelsea.
The race for the managerial position at the West London club seems to be heating up after the Blues decided to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino following a disappointing Premier League campaign.
