Chelsea will welcome Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge this Sunday afternoon as they look to end their Premier League campaign with a win at home. The Blues managed to earn a hard-fought 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion which should give them a ton of confidence ahead of this game.
Mauricio Pochettino will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to make one change to his first XI for this game. Raheem Sterling will get an opportunity to impress from the start of this game as Mykhailo Mudryk is set to miss this clash due to a head injury.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
Dorde Petrovic will feature in between the sticks for the Blues after conceding one goal in his last league outing. Benoit Badiashile will continue to play alongside Trevoh Chalobah at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they try to keep things solid on the defensive end of the pitch.
Malo Gusto would get a chance to impress as the right-back while Marc Cucurella fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Pochettino would ask both of them to get forward at every chance they get so that they can offer enough support to the front players.
Thiago Silva will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-half positions. However, Reece James is suspended for this clash.
Midfield
Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo will operate as Chelsea’s holding midfielders as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. The promising trio of Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke will play just ahead of them as part of Pochettino’s attack. All three of them need to combine well so that they can cause some problems for the Bournemouth defenders.
Cesare Casadei will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Nicolas Jackson will lead the line for the London outfit up top. He would be keen on causing some chaos in and around the Bournemouth penalty box this weekend.
Christopher Nkunku will be available for selection on the bench as he awaits his chance to shine in the latter stages if required.
