After a surprising 4-2 loss to Girona, Barcelona bounced back and registered a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Monday. The latest win placed them back in the second position in the La Liga points table with 76 points after 35 rounds of play.
Barcelona’s next game is scheduled against Almeria this week. It will be another important game for Xavi’s men as they look to retain the second spot in order to qualify for the Spanish Super Cup 2025. Expect a good game for the viewers.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs Almeria
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will once again take charge between the sticks with the aim of keeping a clean sheet for the side. Jules Kounde has been rock solid as a right-back and will continue to retain his position in the lineup.
Xavi has no reason to alter anyone in the duo of Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez. The duo did well in the previous game, and Ronald Araujo’s recent performances have raised questions over his quality. Though left-back Joao Cancelo’s form has also dipped, he should be starting for Barcelona.
Midfield
As Frenkie de Jong is not available, Andreas Christensen will start yet another game as the holding midfielder. Pedri remains a creative pick in the midfield. However, Sergi Roberto should walk into the XI as Ilkay Gundogan is suspended for this clash.
Attack
Lamine Yamal was brilliant yet again and continues to keep his position in the starting XI. Raphinha remains the front-runner for the left-wing role. The Brazilian attacker was unlucky to not get a goal despite some good shots from outside the box.
On the other hand, Robert Lewandowski leads the offensive line. But he needs to deliver more, considering the experience and qualities he brings to the group.
Gavi (knee), Alejandro Balde (hamstring), and Frenkie de Jong (ankle) are the confirmed absentees.
