Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways as they beat Burnley by 2-1 last week. They will next lock horns with Manchester City at home in the Premier League. It will be a crucial game for them as far as the Champions League spot is concerned.
Spurs still have an outside chance to finish in the top four given a couple of things go in their favour. They are fifth in the points table with 63 points, just four points off the fourth position. It will be interesting to see how they come against the mighty Citizens.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester City
Defence
Guglielmo Vicario did a decent job despite the team’s loss last week. No doubt, he is starting in the goal once again for Spurs. Pedro Porro should be continued to be the right full-back in the lineup.
Micky van de Ven had an impressive game and there’s no doubt over his selection. He will form the centre-back duo with Cristian Romero, who remains an important player in the backline. Left-back Oliver Skipp had a mixed display and should be making way for Emerson Royal.
Midfield
Pape Matar Sarr is also likely to be replaced by Rodrigo Bentancur. The latter will partner with Yves Bissouma in the middle of the park.
Brennan Johnson will play on the left flank with Dejan Kulusevski operating on the other side of the pitch. James Maddison remains the attacking midfield who will form the bridge between the midfield and the offensive line.
Attack
Richarlison’s injury will force Son Heung-min to play as a striker for the rest of the season. The latter couldn’t do much in the previous game and will be eager to help his team win against the Citizens.
Apart from Richarlison, Timo Werner (hamstring), Ben Davies (calf), Manor Solomon (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (thigh), Fraser Forster (ankle) and Destiny Udogie (thigh) are the other confirmed absentees.
