Aston Villa are definitely moving in the right direction. They have made progress this season after finishing in seventh position in the Premier League last term. A series of reforms, fresh signing, and new tactics have worked well for them.
The Villans have secured a Champions League berth for next season as they cannot be thrown away from their current fourth position. They have one game remaining on their calendar and it’s against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
4-4-1-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup Vs Crystal Palace
Defence
Emiliano Martinez made a horrible mistake to give Liverpool their first goal. However, he is unlikely to face any consequences as he takes charge between the sticks again. Ezri Konsa should keep his place as the right full-back in the team.
As usual, Diego Carlos and Pau Torres form the heart of the defence. The duo was a bit sloppy in the previous game, which they would like to improve. Left-back Lucas Digne dropped a below-par performance against Liverpool and might find himself lucky to start this game.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz are the holding midfielders in the side. While Leon Bailey operates on the right flank, John McGinn plays on the other side of the pitch. Both wingers did well in the previous game and will be key in this contest as well.
Moussa Diaby will be deployed in the middle of the park, where he will try to create chances in the final third. However, he needs to work on his final ball.
Attack
Though Ollie Watkins had an assist to his name, he failed to breach the keeper. He will be desperate to find the back of the net. Unfortunately, Jhon Duran might have to start on the bench for now.
Nicolo Zaniolo to remain sidelined for a long period due to a foot injury.
