In a recent report, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claimed that Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Frosinone winger Matias Soule who is currently playing on loan from Juventus. It has been stated that the Magpies are showing interest in recruiting the Argentine youngster this summer.
Soule’s Impressive Loan Spell At Frosinone This Season
The 21-year-old is enjoying a decent loan spell at Frosinone as he has produced a series of impressive performances on the right side of their midfield. Soule has made 36 appearances for the Italian outfit this season, netting 11 goals and picking up three assists in the process across all competitions.
The Argentine whizkid has been a reliable performer in the final third and has done well to average 2.2 shots, 2.3 key passes and 2.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from the wide areas after making 81.2% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at his parent club Juventus will run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, Newcastle would have to make a big offer if they are serious about signing the South American sensation later this year.
Newcastle United Are Keeping Tabs On Soule: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Soule is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. The Argentine prospect deserves a ton of credit for adding a handful of goals to his game this season.
There is no denying that Soule is a talent to watch out for in the future. Therefore, he would be an excellent acquisition for the Magpies to pull off in the long run. Soule is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also operate as an attacking midfielder or as a striker if told to do so.
Soule would bring more firepower to Newcastle‘s attack and is already good enough to challenge Anthony Gordon for a regular starting spot at St. James’ Park next season. Thus, Eddie Howe should focus on trying everything in his power to lure Soule to the Tyneside club in the upcoming transfer window.
