In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Newcastle United are in talks to land Arsenal youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry. It has been mentioned that the Magpies are eyeing a move to bring the English wide player to St. James’ Park this summer.
Cozier-Duberry’s Impressive Rise In North London
The 18-year-old has come through the youth ranks of the North London club but is still waiting to make his first senior appearance for them. However, he has done well to prove his worth as a valuable performer for Arsenal’s Under-21 team.
Cozier-Duberry has done well to find the back of the net 18 times and secure ten assists in 47 matches for the Gunners’ U-21 side so far in multiple competitions. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove himself at the highest level.
His current deal at the North London club will run out at the end of this campaign which could open the door for the Magpies to snap him up on a free transfer later this year.
Newcastle United Are In Talks To Land Cozier-Duberry: Is He A Star In The Making?
Cozier-Duberry is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates on the offensive end of the field. The English talent can also strike the ball well from long range but is still unproven in top-flight football.
Still, there is no denying that Cozier-Duberry has the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each year. At 18, the English teenager could be a star in the making if Eddie Howe is willing to give him a chance at Newcastle United.
At the moment, Cozier-Duberry would struggle to earn any first-team football at St. James’ Park. However, he is more than capable of breaking out as a first-team starter in the Premier League over the next few years.
All in all, Cozier-Duberry would be a great acquisition for the Tyneside club to consider in the long run. However, Howe would have to be patient with his progress before he can get the best out of the youngster.
