Liverpool are keen on signing Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro in the summer, according to SportWitness. The Premier League club are highly impressed with the youngster and want to add him to their ranks ahead of the next season.
Alberto Moleiro has attacking instincts
Alberto Moleiro came through the ranks of Las Palmas and made his senior team debut in 2019. Since then he has climbed up the ladders and became an integral part of the squad. His impressive displays have attracted interest from multiple European clubs including Inter Milan.
The Spanish midfielder has featured in 27 games, netting three fours and providing four assists. He is averaging 1 shot, 1 key pass, and 1 dribble per game (stats via whoscored). He mainly operates on the left side of the midfield but can also be deployed on the left wing.
Moleiro is better known for his attacking attributes and is a creative choice. With incredible dribbling and accurate passing skills, he is a playmaker in the final third. He could be more lethal if he improves his finishing near the penalty area.
A good fit in Liverpool’s new system?
Liverpool’s interest in Alberto Moleiro is not new as they tried signing him in 2021. Unfortunately, the deal didn’t materialise but they are now back to acquire his services. It is understandable as the player would fit well in the new rumoured coach, Arne Slot’s playing style.
The 20-year-old has a release clause of £51.5 million in his contract but Las Palmas are willing to sell him for half of the price. The Reds can definitely finance his buy and it can be a good long-term investment considering the youngster’s immense potential.
From the player’s point of view, it could be a good move for his professional career. Moleiro will be able to compete for the prestigious trophies and also learn from his new teammates. Though he might not be a starter, he will definitely get good game time throughout the season.
