Lionel Messi has officially spoken English for the first time after he made his acting debut in Miami as part of a major Hollywood promotion. The Argentine international decided to make his acting debut alongside veteran Hollywood actors, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as they promoted the duo’s new movie, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
The promo also featured Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler as he tried to persuade Smith and Lawrence’s characters to take him as a new “Bad Boy” recruit. The social media promotion was later uploaded by the official Bad Boys Instagram account and was shared by Messi, Butler as well as the two ‘Bad Boys’ stars.
In the video shared below, we can see the World Cup winner and Inter Miami winger Lionel Messi trying to say “Bad Boys,” before being rejected as the new ‘recruit’.

Messi is currently enjoying his time in the United States and has been seen trying to get some media exposure following his involvement in a Super Bowl commercial recently. Hence, it is no surprise that the Argentine has opted to promote the new Hollywood blockbuster, Bad Boys 4 which will hit the theatres on June 7th. The movie has an estimated production cost of $100m.
Messi has enjoyed a great campaign in Major League Soccer so far as he has managed to put in a lot of productive displays for Inter Miami in the final third. The Rosario-born talent has featured in 14 matches for his current employers this season, finding the back of the 13 times and picking up 11 assists in the process across all fronts.
It seems like Messi is enjoying his life in America both on and off the field and could now be in line to feature in more commercials, especially after he spoke English for the first time publicly in this recent ‘Bad Boys 4’ promotion.
