Everton will lock horns with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this Sunday afternoon as they focus on grinding out a result on the road in the Premier League. The Toffees managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win over Sheffield United recently, so they would be full of confidence going into this game.
Sean Dyche will set his men up in a 4-4-1-1 formation and is expected to name a strong starting XI for this game. Ben Godfrey and Abdoulaye Doucoure will probably get a chance to impress from the start of this game.
4-4-1-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in goal for the Merseyside club after keeping a clean sheet in his last league outing. James Tarkowski will operate alongside Jarrad Branthwaite at the centre of the Everton backline as they focus on keeping a good shape defensively during the 90 minutes.
Seamus Coleman will fill in as the right-back while Ben Godfrey gets a chance to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would need to perform their defensive duties well if Everton are to stand a chance of securing something from this game at the Emirates.
Michael Keane will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana will try to anchor the midfield with conviction for the Toffees as they hope to make life tough for the home team in the middle of the park. Dwight McNeil is expected to function as the left-winger while James Garner hopes to impress on the right flank.
Abdoulaye Doucoure will get the nod to catch the eye in the number ten position. Dyche would ask him to carry some of the creative workload in the opponent’s half.
Jack Harrison is unlikely to recover in time for this game due to a thigh problem.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the line for the Merseyside club in the final third. He has to find a way to cause some problems for the Arsenal defenders on the counter.
Youssef Chermiti and Beto will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if Everton are in need of a goal by then.
