In a recent report, The Daily Mail claimed that Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo favours a move to Newcastle United this summer. It is understood that the English centre-back might fancy a move to the Tyneside club as he wants to work under a coach like Eddie Howe.
Adarabioyo’s Impressive Form At Craven Cottage
Adarabioyo has been a decent performer at the heart of the Fulham backline during this campaign. The English talent has participated in 25 matches for the Cottagers this season, scoring two goals in multiple competitions.
The 26-year-old has been a dominant presence when defending inside his half as he is averaging 1.1 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 4.0 clearances per game in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from the back after completing 84.7% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the London club will run out at the end of this season which could open the door for the Magpies to sign him on a free transfer later this year.
Should Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe Get Adarabioyo On Board?
Adarabioyo is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. The talented centre-half doesn’t mind clearing the danger when at risk of being caught out on the defensive end of the field.
The English defensive ace excels at playing his way out from the back. He can even use his strong 1.96m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. At the moment, Adarabioyo is enjoying his football at Fulham.
However, the English sensation is on an expiring contract which makes him an affordable option for the Magpies to consider in the upcoming transfer window. Adarabioyo would bring more bite and steel to Newcastle‘s backline and might help the Tyneside club compete across all fronts in the coming years.
At 26, the Fulham star’s peak years are ahead of him. Hence, Eddie Howe can expect to get the best out of him at St. James’ Park over the next few seasons. All in all, the Magpies would be wise to get Adarabioyo on board at the end of this campaign.
