Manchester City are preparing to lock horns with Wolves at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this week. They registered a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in their previous game to remain the hot favourites for the league title.
The Citizens are second in the points table with 79 points after 34 fixtures. They have a game advantage and will be crowned as winners should they win all three remaining games. Whatever happens, a lot of drama is bound to happen in the upcoming weeks.
4-1-4-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Wolves
Defence
Expect Stefan Ortega to start in the goal as Ederson was forced off during the half-time against Wolves due to a shoulder injury. Though it wasn’t a serious one, the management wouldn’t risk rushing him to start. Kyle Walker had a below-par game last week but that shouldn’t be stopping him from starting as the right-back.
Ruben Dias, who didn’t appear against Wolves due to illness, is likely to walk into the XI to form the heart of the defence with John Stones. It means both Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji will be sent to the bench. Josko Gvardiol scored yet another goal and will operate as the left full-back.
Midfield
The engine of the side, Rodri, remains untouched. Phil Foden is expected to come back and partner Kevin De Bruyne in the middle.
While Bernardo Silva stretches the play by staying wide on the right flank, there will be toss-up between Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish for the left winger role.
Attack
Erling Haaland finally returned for the Citizens and immediately scored to show how important he is. No doubt, he will lead the offensive line and Julian Alvarez will start on the bench.
Pep Guardiola’s side have no fresh injury except Ederson. Even the Brazilian goalkeeper is fine and was seen training with the team.
