After settling for a below-par campaign, Chelsea are actively working towards building a solid unit for the summer. In a major move, the club recently parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino and will bring in a new manager for next season.
On the other hand, the Blues are preparing an official bid for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, as per Daily Mirror. It is understood that the former club will go for his signature irrespective of who comes at the managerial post in the summer.
Michael Olise is a decisive man in the final third
After plying his trade for Arsenal and Chelsea, Michael Olise signed for Reading before eventually moving to Crystal Palace in 2021. He managed to impress the management with his displays on the field. As a result, he grew his place in the side and has become an integral part of it.
Olise prefers playing on the right wing but at times is used as an attacking midfielder. He likes to cut in towards the goal and create threats. With great dribbling skills and shooting ability, he is an attacker any side would love to have.
Despite being sidelined due to injuries, the French forward managed to score 10 goals and provided six assists in 19 games this season. He is averaging 3 shots, 1.9 interceptions, and 2.1 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
Chelsea should go for Michael Olise
Chelsea’s interest in Michael Olise seems like a good move as the player’s arrival will add a lot of quality and depth to the offensive unit. His creative skills in the final third will surely help the team score more goals, an area which they lacked this season.
The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer and can serve the club for a long period. However, the Blues will have to outplay the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool in the race. Reportedly, Crystal Palace want somewhere around £60 million, which shouldn’t be an issue for any of the pursuits.
