In a recent print edition, Milliyet stated that Arsenal are keen on recruiting Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu this summer. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are eyeing a move to land the Turkish defender later this year.
Kadioglu’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football This Season
Kadioglu has enjoyed a fine campaign at the Turkish club as he has been responsible for putting in a string of impressive displays on the left side of their backline. The 24-year-old has featured in 51 matches for Fenerbahce this season, netting three goals and picking up five assists in all competitions.
The Turkish talent has been a good performer at both ends of the pitch based on his average of 2.0 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 1.6 clearances, 0.9 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from the left flank after completing 84.8% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Turkish football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Fenerbahce will expire in the summer of 2026 which could make it difficult for the Gunners to land him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.
Will Kadioglu A Good Option For Arsenal?
Kadioglu is a solid tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his side inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to clear the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can strike the ball well from long range.
The Turkish sensation can create some decent plays for others around him from the left flank and is a good dribbler with the ball as well. He is primarily a left-back but can also serve as a right-back or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so.
At 24, Kadioglu has got a bright future ahead of him which makes him an excellent option for the Gunners to pursue this summer. He would add more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s defence.
Kadioglu is more than capable of fighting for a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium next season. Therefore, it makes sense for the North London giants to try and get him on board later this year.
