In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that West Ham United have joined the race to land Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo. It has been stated that the Hammers will have to rival Monaco, AC Milan and other Serie A clubs in pursuit of the English centre-half this summer.
Adarabioyo’s Impressive Form In English Football
Adarabioyo has enjoyed a decent campaign at the London club after he put in a series of solid performances for them on the defensive third of the pitch. The 26-year-old has scored two goals in 23 appearances for Fulham this season in various competitions.
The English talent has given a good account of himself when defending inside his half as he is averaging 1.1 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3.6 clearances per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from the back after completing 85.2% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Adarabioyo is under contract at Fulham until the end of this campaign. Hence, the Hammers could potentially sign him on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Snap Adarabioyo Up This Summer?
Adarabioyo is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.
Standing at 1.96m, Adarabioyo can use his strong 1.96m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. He is also proficient at playing his way out from the back. We can expect him to inject more quality into West Ham boss David Moyes’ defence.
Adarabioyo has what it takes to earn a regular starting spot at the London Stadium in the coming years. At 26, he is about to enter the peak stage of his playing career which makes him a great option for the Hammers to pursue at the end of this season.
Adarabioyo has got enough experience in the Premier League by now and could make a smooth transition to life at the East London club. Thus, West Ham would be wise to snap him up when the transfer window commences later this year.
