In a recent report, Fichajes stated that West Ham United are facing stiff competition for Inter Milan starlet Valentin Carboni, who is currently playing on loan at Monza. It is believed that the Hammers would have to rival Aston Villa in the race to land the Argentine playmaker this summer.
Carboni’s Decent Loan Spell At Monza
Carboni is having an impressive loan spell at Monza as he has produced a handful of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Argentine talent has participated in 28 matches for the Italian club this season, finding the back of the net twice and securing four assists in all competitions.
The 19-year-old has been a decent performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 0.7 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has also been excellent when interchanging possession with his teammates, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 84.7% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
Carboni is under contract at his parent club Inter Milan until the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for West Ham to land him on a cut-price deal in the upcoming transfer period.
West Ham United Are Facing Stiff Competition For Carbonia: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Carboni can strike the ball purely and with power from long range and has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He can make some promising runs with the ball as well in the opponent’s half.
At the moment, Carboni is enjoying his football at Monza. At 19, he has the potential to be a future star in European football. Therefore, it is only logical for West Ham to try and arrange a move for the South American sensation in the summer transfer window.
Carboni is good enough to add more quality to the East London club‘s frontline. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if the Hammers manage to land him later this year. Still, there is no denying that Carboni is a prospect to watch out for in the future.
