In a recent report, journalist Steve Kay stated that Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze this summer. It has been revealed that the English playmaker is open to sealing a move to the North London club due to family ties.
Eze’s Good Run Of Form In Premier League Football
Eze is having a decent campaign at Selhurst Park after producing a series of impressive displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net on eight occasions and grabbed five assists in 27 matches for the Eagles this season across all competitions.
The English talent has been a good performer in the final third as he is averaging 2.9 shots, 2.0 key passes and 2.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 83.5% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Eze is under contract at the London club until the summer of 2027. Thus, Spurs would have to launch a big offer if they want to convince Crystal Palace to part ways with their prized asset in the upcoming transfer window.
Is Eze A Decent Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?
Eze can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range and has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for others around him in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
The English talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager. We can expect Eze to add more firepower to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s attack.
At 25, Eze has got his best years ahead of him which makes him a good fit for Spurs‘ needs in the long run. He has what it takes to help the North London club challenge for some major trophies in the coming seasons. Thus, Postecoglu would be wise to go all out to lure Eze to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when the transfer window commences at the end of this campaign.
