Tottenham Hotspur will clash heads with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Thursday night as they hope to secure all three points on their travels in the Premier League. Spurs suffered a tough 3-2 loss at the hands of Arsenal in the North London derby recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved showing versus Maurcio Pochettino’s men this week.
Angelos Postecoglu will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma will all get a chance to play from the start of this highly anticipated London derby.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Guglielmo Vicario will operate in between the sticks for Spurs after shipping in three goals in his last league outing. Micky van de Ven will resume his partnership with Cristian Romero at the centre of the Tottenham backline as they look to keep things solid at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Pedro Porro will get a chance to impress as the right-back while Ben Davies hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them need to be at their best if they are to restrict the opposition from causing too many problems from the wide areas.
Radu Dragusin will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr will anchor the midfield for the visitors as they try to make life difficult for the opposition in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Heung-min Son, James Maddison and Ben Johnson will function just ahead of them as part of the Tottenham attack. All three of them need to be at their best if they are to create enough clear-cut chances to win this contest.
Giovani Lo Celso will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Richarlison will spearhead Postecoglu’s attack up top. He would have to find a way to cause some headaches for the Chelsea defenders in this midweek clash at Stamford Bridge.
