In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Real Madrid are eyeing a swap deal for Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland. It has been revealed that Los Blancos are weighing up a swap deal involving Vinicius Jr. and the Norway international but a move is unlikely this summer.
Haaland’s Impressive Record At Man City This Season
The 23-year-old is having a decent campaign at the Mancunian club after putting in a series of productive displays as the focal point of Pep Guardiola’s attack. Haaland has banged in 29 goals and grabbed six assists in 35 matches for Man City this season on all fronts.
The Norwegian sensation has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 4.0 shots and 1.0 key passes per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 76.3% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Mancunian club will expire in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Los Blancos to get a deal done for him this summer.
Real Madrid Are Eyeing A Swap Deal For Haaland: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Haaland is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and can use his strong 1.95m frame to dominate the opposition defenders in the air.
The Norway international can be a goal-scoring machine when he is playing at the top of his game. Hence, he would be a dream option for Real Madrid to consider in the future.
Haaland has what it takes to earn a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium over the next decade. Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to try and arrange a move for him in the coming years. However, the Madrid giants would be wise to keep hold of Vinicius Jr. as he could go on to form a lethal attacking partnership with the Norwegian striker in the long run.
All in all, signing Haaland would be a good move for Real Madrid as he could help them compete for some major trophies in the future.
