Michael Beale is an English professional football manager who was the head coach of Rangers. The 43-year-old decided to be the manager of the Glaswegian side on November 28, 2022. However, due to continuous bad performance, he parted ways with the club despite his contract running till 2026. Most recently he managed Championship club Sunderland.
Michael Beale: Early Life
Beale was born in Bromley, England and began his playing career at Charlton Athletic before going on to have trials at FC Twente and in the United States of America. He decided to retire as a footballer at the age of 21.
Beale went on to serve as a youth coach for Chelsea in 2001 and spent nearly a decade at the West London club. He was the assistant manager of Liverpool‘s Under-21 side from 2012 to 2014 before going on to become their full-time manager.
Beale had a brief spell in Brazil with Sao Paulo but decided to come back to Liverpool as the head of academy coaching. He served as Rangers’ assistant manager from 2018 to 2021 before having spells at Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers respectively.
As mentioned earlier, the Englishman was appointed as the head coach of Rangers on November 28, 2022. He helped the Gers to a strong second-place finish in the 2022-23 Scottish Premiership campaign.
