Jannik Sinner is a 22-year-old tennis player who has taken the world of competitive tennis by storm. Born in 2001, the Italian has ranked as highly as the World No. 2 (according to ATP). Sinner also won his first Grand Slam in 2024.
Sinner sensationally won the Australian Open earlier this year beating Medvedev, becoming the youngest champion since Djokovic way back in 2008. However, his incredible run of form in 2024 has continued since then as the youngster has followed up his win in the Australian Open by winning the Rotterdam Open trophy and the prestigious Miami Open.
So it’s fair to say that at only 22 years old, the sky is the ceiling for Sinner. Also, let’s not forget that even at this young age, he is the highest-ranked tennis player in the history of Italian Tennis.
Sinner recently talked about the role of his parents lauding them, “I never thought to come to this point. I come from a very normal family. My dad is still working, as is my mom, too. For me, sport is one thing and life is different.”
He also said how his grandparent’s health means that his parents won’t be travelling much to see him play, “They won’t travel much, at least until now. I know them, so I also have my grandma and grandpa, which they have a certain age now [so my parents] want to stay close. We have the family at that home. They live in a beautiful place, so they have a good life there.
“For sure I miss personally a little bit the time with my parents, because I left home when I was 13, 14. So I haven’t had so much time with them. Hopefully, I can make this up in the future, but for me it’s more important if they are happy. I know I’m happy. If I’m happy, they’re happy. It’s all good.”

Role of Jannik Sinner’s parents
Going by the interviews Jannik Sinner has given recently and after winning the Australian Open, it’s very clear that he credits his parents over everyone else when it comes to his success. There is pride in young Sinner’s voice every time he talks about his parent’s work ethics and how they raised him.
That is evidence enough of the role that Jannik Sinner’s parents played on him not only for his career but the fine young man he has undoubtedly turned into.
