Kansas City Chief’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes has caused quite a stir on social media following his picture with Liverpool FC boss, Jurgen Klopp. Mahomes was on a visit to Germany enjoying some much-needed recovery time post winning the second consecutive Super Bowl trophy.
The NFL star quarterback and Klopp were snapped together, and the fact that they come from completely different spectrums of the sports world – has left several perplexed and confused. Some Anfield loyalists have even claimed that Mahomes is indeed a Liverpool supporter! Let’s try to unravel the drama part by part –
Patrick Mahomes and Jurgen Klopp’s Addidas connection
Patrick Mahomes and Jurgen Klopp were at the Adidas headquarters when they exchanged paths. Both the sports celebrities are contracted with Adidas. Mahomes joined the German manufacturer in 2017 after he was first drafted into the NFL, whereas Klopp shook hands with Adidas in 2020.

In the picture, Mahomes and Klopp are also joined by Siya Kolisi from the South African rugby team and Adidas CEO, Bjorn Gulden. The Adidas bigshot had the following to say about Mahomes –

Does Mahomes have a connection with Liverpool?
Following their meetup Mahomes shared the picture on his Instagram story leaving the Liverpool supporters in a frenzy about his favorite European soccer team. Although it remains largely unclear if Mahomes is a Liverpool supporter, it would be ideal to point out that Mahomes does have affection for European soccer. The Chiefs quarterback Co-Owns a women’s soccer team along with his wife, Britanny. So it’s not inconceivable that Mahomes has an interest in Liverpool FC.
