Arsenal will host Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium this week in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final round. The Gunners’ strong performances in recent times are a testimony of the quality football they have been playing.
The English side have the potential of taking an extraordinary lead against the Bundesliga side, who have been struggling this season. Fortunately, Arsenal will have all the players available for selection apart from Jurrien Timber, who remains sidelined due to an ACL injury.
4-3-3 Arsenal Predicted Lineup Vs Bayern Munich
Defence
David Raya will continue operating between the sticks ahead of Aaron Ramsdale. The former has shown solidity in the goal this season and will be hoping to continue doing so. Ben White is expected to continue operating as the right-back in the side.
The centre-back duo of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes remains intact. Their performance might decide the fate of the clash. For the left full-back position, manager Mikel Arteta can prefer fielding Takehiro Tomiyasu in place of Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Japanese defender is a more defensive choice.
Midfield
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. The quote applies to Arsenal’s midfield trio of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Jorginho. All three have been instrumental in the team’s impressive performances. Once again, they will take onto the field with only one mission in their heads.
Attack
Though Bukayo Saka scored in the previous game, it wouldn’t be unfair to say that he didn’t look completely comfortable. After the game, the 22-year-old himself admitted the fact that he was struggling. However, it shouldn’t be stopping him from starting against Bayern Munich.
Gabriel Martinelli has regained his full fitness and is likely to operate on the right wing. Kai Havertz continues to lead the offensive line but he will have to be careful. If he picks a yellow card in the first leg, he will miss the away game.
