After failing to qualify for the knockout rounds last year, Barcelona have made good progress in the UEFA Champions League so far. They won their group and then overpowered Napoli in the Round of 16, only to draw PSG in the quarter-final fixture.
The Spanish Giants will travel to France this week to face the Ligue 1 toppers. Having a good run across all competitions recently, Xavi’s men will head into the clash with a lot of confidence. However, they must be on their toes to defuse the threats of Kylian Mbappe and their former winger Ousmane Dembele.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs PSG
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the man with the gloves for Barcelona without any second thought. He should be operating at his best level to deny PSG from finding the back of the net. Jules Kounde has done well as the right-back and hence, expect no change there.
While Ronald Araujo remains the leader in the defensive line, Pau Cubarsi is the front-runner to accompany him ahead of Inigo Martinez. The teenager has shown great skills and temperament this season. Joao Cancelo is likely to retain his spot as the left-back. He will be given the role to limit Ousmane Dembele’s involvement.
Midfield
Ilkay Gundogan is the engine of the midfield and will be expected to leave an impact on the game. Frenkie de Jong recently returned to training from an ankle injury and should be walking into the XI. There will be a race between Fermin Lopez and Sergi Roberto for the third midfield spot.
Attack
Without a doubt, Robert Lewandowski retains the striker, and Lamine Yamal operates on the right wing. On the left flank, Xavi is likely to deploy Raphinha, who has shown good form recently. Joao Felix should be coming off the bench in the second half.
Gavi (ACL) and Alejandro Balde (hamstring) are the confirmed absentees, while Pedri (thigh) and Andreas Christensen (Achilles) could be back.
