Aston Villa faced off against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they tried to grind out a good result on the road. The Villans made a slow start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the 11th minute when Rodri got his name on the scoresheet. However, Unai Emery’s men found a way back into the game just nine minutes later when Jhon Duran scored with a good finish. Phil Foden restored Man City’s lead in the dying embers of the first half as Aston Villa trailed 2-1 at the half-time break.
Foden scored again for the home team in the 62nd minute. The English attacker completed his hat-trick just seven minutes later as the Villans ended up suffering a poor 4-1 loss away from home.
