Chelsea are desperately looking for attackers in the market to bolster the offensive line ahead of next season. They club have identified AS Roma attacker Paulo Dybala as a viable target and are keen on signing him in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes.
Paulo Dybala needs no introduction
Paulo Dybala is one of the most renowned footballers across the globe at present. He has ample experience of playing football at the club as well as international level. He is versatile enough to operate on both flanks, as a striker or work as an attacking midfielder.
The Argentine can be a decisive man in the final third with his play-making and finishing. He likes to dribble and provide key passes. He doesn’t hesitate to shoot whenever he sees an opportunity. The veteran is also capable of finding the back of the net with set pieces.
The Argentine has been in terrific form for the Italian side, AS Roma, in this term. He has scored 15 goals and contributed nine goals in 32 games. He is averaging 2 shots, 1.4 key passes, and 0.9 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
A good short-term buy
Chelsea have struggled to find goals this season and have prioritized signing a new striker in the summer. Though Paulo Dybala is not an out striker, he could be a great addition to their ranks. He is at the peak of his career and can make an instant impact.
The arrival of Dybala will also take some burden off Cole Palmer‘s shoulder. The former attacker can play in multiple positions, making life easy for boss Mauricio Pochettino. Dybala’s contract with AS Roma runs until the summer of 2025.
The Italian club would want to cash in on him if he refuses to sign a new contract. Hence, the Blues can acquire his services in the summer without much tussle.
