Aston Villa will entertain Chelsea at Villa Park on Saturday night as they look to secure all three points on the road in the Premier League. The Villans managed to secure an impressive 3-1 win over Bournemouth recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-4-1-1 formation and could make some tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Both Diego Carlos and Douglas Luiz will play from the start of this contest versus the Blues.
4-4-1-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will operate in between the sticks for the Villans after conceding one goal in his last league outing. Diego Carlos will operate alongside Pau Torres at the centre of the Aston Villa backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Ezri Konsa will fill in as the right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Calum Chambers will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz will play as the holding midfielders as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park. Leon Bailey will hope to put his pace to good use on the right flank while John McGinn looks to produce a tireless shift as the left-winger.
Moussa Diaby will operate in the number ten position for Aston Villa. He would have to carry most of the creative workload for the Villans in the final third.
Morgan Rogers will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will spearhead Unai Emery’s attack up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net after failing to do so versus the Cherries recently.
Jhon Duran will be named on the bench as he looks to influence the game in the latter stages if required.
