In a recent report, Tuttomercatoweb revealed that West Ham United have set their sights on Torino wide player Raoul Bellanova. It has been claimed that the Hammers are set to rival Aston Villa and Manchester United in the race to acquire the services of the Italian talent this summer.
Bellanova’s Impressive Run Of Form In Italian Football This Season
Bellanova is having an impressive campaign at the Italian club after putting in a run of decent displays on the right side of their midfield. The Italian sensation has found the back of the net once and picked up five assists in 29 matches for Torino this season across multiple competitions.
The 23-year-old has been a reliable performer on the right flank as he is averaging 0.9 shots, 1.1 key passes, 1.0 crosses and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession based on his pass completion rate of 84.7% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for West Ham to snap him up at the end of this campaign.
Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Go For Bellanova?
Bellanova usually works hard for his team defensively out on the flanks. He is a good dribbler with the ball and has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates up top. The Italian talent is a decent crosser of the ball as well and generates a lot of power with his shot attempts. However, he needs to figure out a way to add more goals to his game.
At the moment, Bellanova is playing at a high level at Torino. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if West Ham manage to sign him in the summer.
Bellanova would bring more quality to David Moyes’ first XI and could help the Hammers compete across all fronts in the coming years. At 23, he has the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday. Thus, it makes sense for the East London club to go for the Torino sensation later this year.
