Manchester City locked horns with Liverpool at Anfield earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute when John Stones scored from point-blank from Kevin De Bruyne’s corner. Man City managed to get to the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
The Mancunian club conceded a penalty early in the second half which led to Alexis Mac Allister scoring in the 50th minute. Man City ended up settling for a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Merseyside.

He made a routine save in the first half but gave away a penalty early in the second half. Ederson was injured and had to be replaced soon after.
CB: Kyle Walker – 7/10
Walker gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field.

He was a rock at the back and did enough to limit the home side to just one goal.
CB: Nathan Ake – 7/10
Ake did his fair share of defending but sold his goalkeeper short in the lead-up to Liverpool being awarded a penalty.

The Spaniard made a positive impact at both ends of the pitch.
CM: John Stones – 7.5/10
He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and managed to score the opener in the 23rd minute.
RW: Phil Foden – 6.5/10
Foden made some decent runs with the ball but never looked like he would score.
CM: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10
Silva caught the eye at times in the final third but failed to register a goal.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7/10
He made some inviting chances for his teammates and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
LW: Julian Alvarez – 6/10
Alvarez made two encouraging runs with the ball but failed to threaten the Liverpool goal.
ST: Erling Haaland – 7/10
He was a real handful for the opposition defenders but failed to score today.
