In a recent report, Defensa Central stated that Real Madrid are facing competition from Manchester City for Bayern Munich ace Jamal Musiala this summer. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to recruit the Germany international and would have to pay north of €100m if they want to beat the Mancunian club in the race to land him.
Musiala’s Impressive Form In La Liga
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a decent run of form at Bayern this season after putting in a series of impressive performances for them in the final third. Musiala has banged in 12 goals and picked up seven assists in 31 matches for the Bavarian club during this campaign on all fronts.
The Stuttgart-born talent has proven his worth as a consistent performer in the opponent’s half as he is averaging 2.6 shots, 1.9 key passes and 3.8 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the final third after making 81.9% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Bavarian club will expire in the summer of 2026. Therefore, Los Blancos would have to make an astronomical offer if they are serious about recruiting him in the summer.
Real Madrid Face Competition From Manchester City For Musiala: Is He Worth The Fight?
Musiala can create some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can make some clever runs with the ball up top.
The German sensation can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-winger if told to do so by his manager.
We can expect Musiala to add more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s frontline. He is good enough to compete with Jude Bellingham for a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club next season. Therefore, Musiala would be well worth the fight if Los Blancos can manage to fund a move for him at the end of this season.
