In a recent report, Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon mentioned that Real Madrid are keen on recruiting LOSC Lille starlet Leny Yoro. It has been revealed that Los Blancos are set to rival Paris Saint-Germain in the race to recruit the talented teenager in the summer.
Yoro’s Impressive Form At Lille This Season
Yoro has put in a run of solid displays at the heart of Lille’s backline during this campaign. The 18-year-old has scored three times in 31 matches for the French outfit this season across all competitions.
The French talent has been a rock at the back and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 1.2 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3.0 clearances per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from inside his half after making 92.3% of his attempted passes in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Real Madrid could sign Yoro on the cheap if they decide to move in for him at the end of this campaign.
Real Madrid Are Keen On Recruiting Yoro: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Yoro loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. Standing at 1.90m, the French centre-back can use his strong frame to win his fair share of 50-50 duels in the air. He is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.
We can expect Yoro to add more bite and steel to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive department. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 18, Yoro is no doubt a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, the Madrid giants would do well to lure him to the Spanish capital in the summer transfer period. However, the French defensive ace is still quite raw and might need some time to adapt to life in Spain.
